Day 1 – Home to Bretton Woods, NH
Our our flight takes off for Boston, we’re Dreaming of a White Christmas and the magical journey ahead! We’ll then make our way to New Hampshire, the “Granite State.” Traveling through New Hampshire’s snowy woods, we’ll arrive in the picturesque White Mountain National Forest for three wonderful nights at the stunning Omni Mount Washington Resort in Bretton Woods, NH. Ground was broken on this “only in your dreams resort” in 1900 and construction was completed in 1902. A delightful buffet dinner is served in the resort’s elegant 1902 Main Dining Room this evening. After dinner, perhaps you wish to don your coat, hat, & mittens and take a moonlit stroll on the expansive veranda.

Day 2 – Bretton Woods
Breakfast is included this morning at our resort. Then we’ll meet our local guide for a fantastic day of touring. First, we’ll board the world’s first mountain climbing cog railway for a scenic, winter wonderland train ride on Mount Washington! Powered by a biodiesel locomotive, our roundtrip excursion includes a short layover at Waumbek Station (elevation 3900′). Waumbek is now the cornerstone of their cold-weather service, featuring three large, elevated decks that, in clear weather, offer magnificent views to Quebec in the north and Vermont’s Northern Kingdom to the west. We’ll enjoy their warming huts, complimentary hot refreshments, and a large fire pit. Arriving back at the resort, an elegant buffet lunch is served. Next, our guide takes us on a fascinating, historic tour of our Omni Mount Washington Resort! Did you know that 250 Italian craftsmen, skilled in masonry and woodworking, were brought to Bretton Woods and housed on the grounds? A favorite New England retreat of presidents, poets and celebrities; the hotel delights every sense with enchanting music, refined dining and luxurious décor. The hotel has been host to countless celebrities, including Thomas Edison, Babe Ruth and three U.S. Presidents. This afternoon we’ll catch ourselves humming Bing Crosby’s holiday classics as we enjoy a fun Christmas activity together at the resort. Dinner and the evening are on your own in our spectacular surroundings.

Day 3 – Bretton Woods
Enjoy breakfast at your leisure at the resort before we’re off with our local guide for day of adventures. First, we’ll visit The Rocks Estate, a Christmas tree farm, in Bethlehem, NH. We’ll learn all about the tree farming business and life in New Hampshire during our horse-drawn wagon ride through the beautiful Christmas tree fields! Their gift shop, located in the historic 1884 carriage barn, is the perfect place to purchase Christmas presents! Before we depart, we’ll each choose from their variety of decorated Christmas wreaths – a lovely gift that will be shipped right to our home! Next we’ll enjoy lunch and beer tasting at the Woodstock Inn Brewery. This family-owned brewery offers us a unique dining experience where craft beer meets exceptional pub fare. Boasting a welcoming atmosphere of a New England Inn, they serve quintessential New England food. We’ll be treated to a small glass of the brewery’s exceptional, local brew of the day. Seeing as we’re in Bethlehem, we’ll make a special stop at the Bethlehem Post Office. Plan ahead and bring your ready-to-mail Christmas cards, each complete with a stamp, and they’ll be postmarked to your friends & family from Bethlehem! Returning to our resort, dinner is on your own. If you’re not ready to call it a day, maybe you wish to soak in the hot tub and/or the indoor or outdoor pools (both heated!) Or perhaps you wish to book (at your own expense) a nostalgic, horse-drawn sleigh ride as you cozy up under warm blankets and glide through the tranquil stillness of Bretton Woods’ wonderland of white!

Day 4 – Bretton Woods to Sturbridge, MA
We will savor one last breakfast at the spectacular Omni Mount Washington Resort before we head south into Massachusetts, the “Bay State,” to West Brookfield. A unique dinner experience is in store at the historical Salem Cross Inn – Let the Fireplace Feast begin! Relax by the fieldstone fireplace as the crackling fire roasts your prime rib “to a turn” by rotating it slowly over a crackling fire of wild cherry logs. This jack is the only known 1700’s antique roasting jack that was used to roast fowl and beef in New England that is still in use. The flavor of the fireplace roasted prime rib is unsurpassed. Beware the brimming bowl of freshly whipped cream – the perfect complement to New England’s Best Apple Pie served from an antique wooden bowl! This place is made even more magical in its Christmas finery! Afterwards, our Christmas spirits will rise as we enjoy Christmas carols sung by a local entertainer! We’ll make our way to the rolling hills of Sturbridge, Massachusetts and check into our hotel for the night. Our last evening together will be spent in charming Old Sturbridge Village, a living history museum that re-creates life in rural New England from the 1790s- 1830s, for their special Christmas by Candlelight event. We’ll relish old traditions as we experience the history of Christmas festivities. We’ll watch demonstrations of classic Christmas projects, stroll through the decorated Village and Christmas Tree Trail, listen to stories and live music, sample sweet treats, and more!

Day 5 – Sturbridge to Home
Breakfast is included this morning before we depart for Connecticut and fly home out of Hartford. As we’ve gone dashing through the snow, it’s sure been easy Dreaming of a White Christmas!
