Day 3 – Honolulu/Waikiki
Today we’re in for a real treat with a visit to the Dole Pineapple Plantation for a tour, garden viewing, instructions on how to properly cut a pineapple, and possibly some pineapple treats to try! The Dole Plantation is one of the only remaining pineapple plantations in Hawaii. Originally operated as a fruit stand beginning in 1950, Dole Plantation opened to the public as Hawaii’s “Pineapple Experience” in 1989. Today, Dole Plantation is one of Oahu’s most popular visitor attractions and welcomes more than one million visitors a year. Once we leave the plantation, Oahu’s stunning North Shore is just a short drive away. This time of the year should be the best time for seeing some of the biggest and most dangerous surfing waves along the beaches. No worries; we won’t be stopping to surf, but do take a look at these epic waves! We’ll spend the rest of the afternoon and evening at another one of the island’s most popular cultural centers: the Polynesian Cultural Center, voted the #1 attraction in Hawaii by USA Today. We’ll explore 42 acres of tropical splendor featuring 6 authentic villages representing the island cultures of Hawaii, Fiji, Aotearoa (New Zealand), Samoa, Tahiti, and Tonga. Mingle with Pacific islanders as they share the majesty of their culture through music, dance, and traditional hands-on activities. Enjoy the wonderful island luau before finishing off our adventure through the power of “Ha: Breath of Life,” an action-packed evening show. Ignited by fire, song and dance featuring over 100 Polynesian performers, this story of passion will make this day a truly unforgettable experience. It will be a late evening, but remember tomorrow is a free day to do as you please!

We’ll see Mauna Loa, the most massive mountain on earth, and Kilauea Crater, rising 4,090 ft. above a volcanic wonderland of steaming fire pits and fern forests. We’ll enjoy an included lunch near the park. We’ll continue on with our sightseeing ride along the eastern coast of the Big Island, with a stop or two along the way. Royal Kona Resort rests on a 12-acre volcanic outcropping, offering a dramatic oceanfront setting just steps from many restaurants, shops, and historic sites in Kailua-Kona.
