Day 1 – Overnight Flight to Rome, Italy
Sit back and relax as we embark on a remarkable journey on this trip of a lifetime! An R&J Tour Director is there to assist you throughout the tour.
Day 2 – Arrive in Rome
Welcome to the Eternal City! We’ll enjoy a relaxed evening with a welcome dinner, setting the stage for our unforgettable journey.

Day 3 – Rome
This morning we’ll appreciate being able to skip the lines as our guided tour takes us right into the Vatican Museums, Sistine Chapel, and St. Peter’s Basilica! In the afternoon, we’ll embark on a panoramic coach tour, passing by the Colosseum, Roman Forum, and Circus Maximus. We’ll make stops at the Trevi Fountain, one of the largest Baroque fountains in the world, as well as the special Spanish Steps and the famous Pantheon. A delightful dinner near the hotel is a great way to end our day.

Day 4 – Rome
Step back in time with a private tour of the iconic Colosseum – wow! Next is a visit to the stunning Galleria Borghese, home to masterpieces by Bernini and Caravaggio. Stroll through the lush Villa Borghese Gardens, developed in 1606 by Cardinal Scipione Borghese, who wanted to turn his former vineyard into the most extensive gardens built in Rome. We’ll gather for dinner this evening.

Day 5 – Rome to Siena
Travel north with a stop in the medieval town of Orvieto to admire its magnificent Gothic cathedral completed in 1591. Enjoy a leisurely lunch before we continue to Siena, where we’ll check in and have the evening free to explore or dine at your leisure. Located in central Italy’s Tuscany region, Siena is distinguished by its medieval
brick buildings and fan-shaped central square.

Day 6 – Siena
Today finds us taking in the rolling landscapes of Chianti. First we’ll visit the historic Castello di Brolio, whose first stones date back to the Middle Ages. Here we’ll enjoy the impressive gardens as well as a wine tasting. Next a scenic lunch awaits at Castello Vicchiomaggio, surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. We’ll also enjoy a tour of their wine cellar, complete with wine tastings. Then we return to Siena for an evening at leisure.

Day 7 – Siena
We begin our day by discovering Siena’s historic centre, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We’ll visit the opera Duomo Siena, exploring the majesty of the striking Siena Cathedral with its mosaic floor and the Piccolomini Library. Then we head to San Gimignano, the “Town of Towers.” Wander its medieval streets, soak in the panoramic views, and enjoy a relaxed afternoon before a group dinner at a charming local restaurant.

Day 8 – Siena to Florence
Take in the surrounding landscapes as we make our way to Florence and settle into a centrally located hotel. Experience a panoramic guided tour by coach, stopping to admire landmarks like the Duomo, Palazzo Vecchio, and Ponte Vecchio. We’ll conclude the day with an authentic Tuscan dinner at a Florentine trattoria.

Day 9 – Florence
Spending the morning in Pisa, we’ll marvel at the Leaning Tower and the Piazza dei Miracoli, a 21.9-acre compound recognized as an important center of European medieval art and one of the finest architectural complexes in the world. Return to Florence for a free afternoon. You may opt to visit the Accademia Gallery or explore the city’s charming piazzas. We’ll gather for a dinner at a traditional Florentine restaurant.

Day 10 – Florence to Venice
After breakfast, we travel to Venice, where a private water taxi whisks us to our hotel located near Tronchetto Port. We’re treated to a guided boat tour through the scenic Grand Canal, stopping at the impressive St. Mark’s Square and the Doge’s Palace. As we cruise this large channel, we’ll take in the Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance architectural styles on each side. Tonight, we’ll enjoy a Venetian dinner near the hotel.

Day 11 – Venice
This morning we embark on a private boat excursion to the island of Murano, renowned for its long tradition of glass-making. We cannot visit the island without experiencing a glass-blowing demonstration! Next we’ll cruise to another Venetian Lagoon island, Burano, to explore its colorful streets and lace-making traditions. One of the greatest experiences in Europe awaits us upon our return to Venice – a gondola ride! We’ll end our special day with dinner.

Day 12 – Venice to USA
After breakfast, a private water taxi will take us to the Venice Marco Polo Airport for our journey home. What a grand tour of Italy we have shared!
