Day 1 – Home to Hannibal, MO
Board our luxury motorcoach for a tour to the Show Me state! Get to know your fellow passengers as we travel today. This evening enjoy a delicious dinner at Fiddle Stix before we settle into our hotel for the night.

Day 2 – Hannibal to Columbia, MO
First on the itinerary today is the Mark Twain Boyhood Home & Museum. See where Sam Clemens grew up, the Huckleberry Finn House, Becky Thatcher House, the Norman Rockwell Gallery, and the lovely gardens and grounds where the REAL adventures of “Tom Sawyer” took place. This afternoon we will explore the life of Winston Churchill at the National Churchill Museum. Here we will tour the Church of St Mary, where we will be special guests of a short organ concert, see a piece of the Berlin Wall and enjoy lunch at Westminster College. This evening we will be treated to a private culinary tour of Columbia that will indulge your taste buds!

Day 3 – Columbia
After breakfast we are off for a very unique experience. We will tour the oldest continually operating prison west of the Mississippi River, the “original” Missouri State Penitentiary. As guests we will be guided through some of the housing, the oldest building (1868) still standing, dungeon cells, and the Gas Chamber. Hear the history including information on infamous inmates, the Riot of 1954, escape attempts and much more. After we escape, lunch will be served at Prison Brews…a break out from the ordinary! After lunch, be on the lookout for some puppies to greet us and share their program, Puppies for Parole, and hear how they are rescued. Before we head back to the hotel we will make a sweet stop at Central Dairy Ice Cream Parlor, known for their legendary ice cream treats. After trying some ourselves, we’ll understand why they’ve been in business since 1920! Take some time to freshen up before we endeavor on a mystery event!

Day 4 – Columbia to West Des Moines, IA
Following breakfast we visit the Mitchell Antique Motor Car Museum with the most impressive and extensive collection of cars and wagons in the world. Then it’s on to Warm Springs Ranch, the world headquarters of the Budweiser Clydesdale breeding operation. Here we will explore this impressive facility with 300-plus acres of land and more than 100 Clydesdales. We will have a chance to interact with Clydesdale handlers and have an opportunity for a photo with a Clydesdale. Our lunch today at Settlers Inn, a log cabin, will be homemade goodness. Then we arrive at our hotel for a restful evening and enjoy the hotel’s “Kickback” reception.

Day 5 – West Des Moines to Home
This morning after breakfast, we will make a photo stop at the Iowa State Capitol and view the Vietnam War Memorial. After some time at Historic Valley Junction (“Main Street Iowa”), we will make our way home. It will be time to exchange our good-byes with the new friends we have come to know during our Show Me Missouri tour!
