Day 1 – Home to Dallas, TX
Today we welcome in the Stars & Spurs of Texas as we leave our Minnesota winter wonderland and fly to Dallas. Our home for the next two nights is the Drury Inn Plaza. We will get to know our fellow travelers during a Welcome Dinner tonight.

Day 2 – Dallas
This morning we will first visit the George W. Bush Presidential Center, a nonpartisan institution advancing the timeless values of freedom, opportunity, accountability, and compassion. In reference to our 43rd President, lunch will be on your own in Cafe 43. Next we visit the Sixth Floor Museum, located in the former Texas School Book Depository building and chronicles the assassination & legacy of President John F. Kennedy. Our next stop will be touring the AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys and the world’s largest domed structure! Our VIP tour will take in the Cowboys Locker Room, the Cheerleaders Locker Room, a Luxury Suite, the Field (depending on availability), and so much more. This evening partake in the Drury’s Kickback Reception, which is a complete light meal.

Day 3 – Dallas to San Antonio, TX
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll drive to the heart of Texas: San Antonio! First we’ll have lunch at the historic Buckhorn Museum, which has been enjoyed by many for more than a century. This iconic place features wildlife from all over the world that have been collected over the decades, including the “78 point buck!” We’ll have some time to explore the museums after we eat. Then we’ll take a self-guided walking tour of the Alamo, a 300-year-old Spanish Mission. Next we will board our Go Rio Barge for a cruise down the Rio Grande River and the beautiful River Walk of San Antonio. This will be a narrated cruise that will unveil all there is along the Riverwalk of downtown San Antonio relative to the city’s culture, history, architecture, and timeless charm. What a perfect way to help us get acquainted with the area. After settling into our home located right on the Riverwalk for the next 4 nights, we’ll partake in the complete light meal of the Drury’s Kickback Reception.

Day 4 – San Antonio
Enjoy breakfast today at the hotel before we board our coach with a step-on guide for a wonderful tour of the city. This afternoon we visit the beautiful Mission San Jose, known as “the Queen of Texas Missions.” Next we’ll tour the oldest standing church in Texas, San Fernando Cathedral. Then we’ll head to the Mercado Market for lunch & shopping on our own. Our next stop is the SAS (San Antonio Shoes) factory and outlet store where we have a chance to shop their wonderful store for sensible shoes and other great finds. Then we return to the hotel for the Kickback Reception and a restful, relaxing evening.

Day 5 – San Antonio
Breakfast is served at the hotel before we board our coach for another exciting day. We head north out of San Antonio to the small town of Fredericksburg, home of the National Museum of the Pacific War. Here the history of the Pacific War will come alive as we walk through the life of Chester Nimitz, the highly respected leader of the Pacific campaign of WWII. This afternoon we’ll not only see LBJ’s Boyhood Home, but we’ll also take a narrated driving tour through the LBJ Ranch. After returning to San Antonio, we’ll once again kickback at the hotel or you may explore some more of the Riverwalk and city on your own.

Day 6 – San Antonio
After a leisurely breakfast this morning at the hotel, we will visit the Botanical Gardens of San Antonio, a 38-acre living museum of plants, tranquil escapes, living classrooms, research and conservation. After visiting the gardens, we will have a fantastic lunch at the Chart House Restaurant located in the Tower of the Americas! Enjoy your lunch from a 750 feet high rotating restaurant! The Chart House has the most spectacular look at the Alamo City, giving panoramic views of the sprawling landscape. After lunch we will step aboard horse-drawn carriages for a wonderful city tour to the pleasant clip clop of the horses’ hooves. Our carriages will return us to the hotel before we head out of the city to Knibbe Ranch. We will arrive at the ranch and the first item on the agenda is a hayride tour of the ranch narrated by the ranch owner himself! The hayride will be followed by an authentic Texas barbecue with cowboy entertainment!

Day 7 – San Antonio to Home
We’ll enjoy our last breakfast in San Antonio before we pack up for our flight home, remembering all the fun we had in Texas!
