Day 1 – Home to Seattle to Port Angeles, WA
Our flight takes us to Seattle, from there we will journey to Washington’s scenic Olympic Peninsula. Arriving in Port Angeles, a picturesque town nestled where the snowcapped Olympic Mountains meet the calm roll of the sea, we will check into the Red Lion Hotel for the next two nights. This property is located right on the beach of the beautiful Strait of Juan de Fuca – providing great views of the water! This evening, we will enjoy a dinner at the resort, giving us the opportunity to get acquainted with our fellow travelers. After dinner, we will settle in and prepare for a week filled with coastal beauty, mountain vistas, and serene waterways.

Day 2 – Port Angeles/Olympic National Park
We will begin our day with an included breakfast at our hotel before venturing into the natural splendor of Olympic National Park. Our first stop will be the Olympic National Park Visitor Center, where we will learn about the park’s diverse ecosystems and take time to explore. From there, we will ascend to Hurricane Ridge, enjoying breathtaking mountain views and sweeping vistas of the surrounding valleys and waterways. We will return to Port Angeles for lunch on our own – choose a local favorite and enjoy the waterfront area. In the afternoon, we will visit the historic 1915 Lake Crescent Lodge, nestled along the tranquil waters of Lake Crescent. Stroll their 3/4 mile Moments in Time Trail loop through lush, old-growth forest and access to the lake. This evening, we will gather for a delicious dinner at a local restaurant, reflecting on a day filled with towering peaks, pristine lakes, and unforgettable scenery!

Day 3 – Port Angeles to Victoria, BC
Breakfast is served early before we’ll head to the Black Ball Ferry terminal for our scenic crossing to Victoria, British Columbia, with our motorcoach traveling along. As we glide across the waters of the Strait of Juan de Fuca, enjoy views of the coastline and islands along the way. Upon arrival on Vancouver Island, we will visit the world-famous Butchart Gardens. Here, we can stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens filled with vibrant flowers, winding paths, and serene water features. We’ll have lunch at The Blue Poppy Restaurant, located right on the garden grounds. Later, we will check in for two nights to the iconic 1908 Fairmont Empress Hotel, perfectly situated along Victoria’s Inner Harbor. Known as “Canada’s Castle on the Coast” with its elegant architecture and classic charm, the Empress offers a wonderful base to explore the city. The evening will be on our own to enjoy the harbor, explore shops, or dine at a nearby restaurant.

Day 4 – Victoria/Cowichan Valley
Today, we will be joined by a knowledgeable local step-on guide for a full day exploring Vancouver Island’s scenic Cowichan Valley. Our morning includes a visit to The Raptors, where we will learn about birds of prey and observe these magnificent creatures up close. During the flying demonstration, we’ll experience species such as eagles, hawks, owls, and vultures as they soar freely in the flying field! We’ll enjoy lunch in the valley before traveling to Duncan, where we will have free time to explore charming downtown streets, browse shops, and see the town’s famous totem poles. Later, we will visit a local winery for a tasting. As we travel back to Victoria, our guide will share local history and stories, deepening our appreciation of the area. Dinner this evening will be on our own, allowing time to explore Victoria’s Inner Harbor at a relaxed pace.

Day 5 – Victoria to Tacoma, WA
After a leisurely breakfast, we will again board the Black Ball Ferry for our scenic return crossing to Port Angeles. Once back in Washington, we will travel to Tacoma, taking in views of the picturesque Puget Sound along the way. First, we will visit the Museum of Glass and enjoy a docent-led tour, learning about the artistry and craftsmanship behind these stunning works. A highlight will be walking across the Chihuly Bridge of Glass, a 500 ft. long pedestrian overpass that links the Museum to downtown Tacoma. Plus we’ll be treated to a glassblowing demonstration as we watch the craftsman at work! This evening, we will enjoy dinner at a local restaurant before checking in to the Silver Cloud Inn, Tacoma’s only waterfront hotel! A perfect place to relax for the next three nights!

Day 6 – Tacoma/Mount Rainier National Park
After breakfast we will make our way to majestic Mt. Rainier National Park. Standing at 14,410 ft. above sea level, Mt. Rainier is an icon in the Washington landscape! An active volcano, Mt. Rainier is the most glaciated peak in the contiguous US, spawning five major rivers. We will thoroughly enjoy taking in the scenic southwest side with subalpine wildflower meadows that ring the icy volcano while ancient forests cloak Mt. Rainier’s lower slopes. Lunch will be enjoyed right in the park at Mt. Rainier Paradise Inn. After lunch we resume our park touring, taking in the wildlife and beauty around us! The rest of the evening is on your own to relax on the waterfront at the hotel. Tonight we’ll gather for a fun pizza party and bingo.

Day 7 – Tacoma (Float Planes!)
Today is all about aviation! First, we will visit Boeing’s impressive Museum of Flight, where we will explore the Future of Flight Aviation Center’s interactive exhibits and learn about the fascinating world of aerospace and commercial aviation. Our guided Boeing tour provides a behind-the-scenes look at Boeing aircraft assembly and the innovative technology that drives the aviation industry. Lunch will be on our own at the Future of Flight Center, giving time to enjoy a light meal and explore additional exhibits. Departing, we make our way to Kenmore Air Harbor for a special tour of Kenmore Air’s Lake Washington Terminal, giving us great insight into why these float planes are so important to the Pacific NW. Now it is time for our very own float plane experience as we board 10-passenger float planes for a scenic flight that begins & ends on water! During our flight, we’ll experience views of Seattle, Whidbey Island & the San Juan Islands as well as skirt the Olympic Mountains. As we come in from the west to land in Tacoma, we’ll have the best views of Mt. Rainier in the distance! This is truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience we will never forget! This evening, we’ll gather for one last dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 8 – Tacoma to Seattle to Home
After breakfast, we will visit the iconic Space Needle for panoramic view of Seattle, Puget Sound, and the surrounding mountains – the perfect finale to our adventure! Then we fly home with memories of breathtaking national parks, waterways, & coastal vistas!
