“The entire visit to Winnipeg was wonderful but the Hutterite Colony was such an exceptional experience. I would highly recommend taking this tour.” Sharon, Maplewood

Day 1 – Home to Winnipeg, MB

With excitement, we’ll be on the way to Winnipeg, Manitoba and check into our hotel to freshen up before an included welcome dinner. For the next four nights we are guests at the Historic Fort Garry Hotel with modern-day style and convenient location in the heart of downtown Winnipeg.

Included Meals: Dinner

Hotel: Historic Fort Garry Hotel (4 Nights)

Day 2 – Winnipeg

First on today’s docket is a spectacular horticultural visit to the Assiniboine Park Conservatory, where we will journey through four distinct biomes at The Leaf. Have you ever wanted to visit Churchill and see the polar bears? Next, we will have an opportunity to see these magnificent creatures face to face as we visit the exhibit “Journey to Churchill” during our guided tour at the Assiniboine Park Zoo and Gardens. After a box lunch at the park, we’ll tour the Winnipeg Royal Canadian Mint, a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility established in 1976. They say that money makes the world go ‘round’ and here’s our chance to see first-hand where it all begins. Return to the hotel and enjoy some free time before attending Folklorama, the world’s largest and longest-running multicultural festival. We will sample cuisine and celebrate the cultural and ethnic heritage of people from two different cultures who have made Winnipeg their home. Each pavilion presents a show featuring songs and dances from their culture, along with trademark ethnic cuisine and a cultural display. It is a night you won’t soon forget!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Winnipeg

This morning we’ll take a self-guided tour of the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, which will take us on a journey of education and inspiration unlike anything we’ve experienced before. After an included lunch at the museum, we head to The Forks, the city’s most popular gathering place, located at the junction of the Red and Assiniboine Rivers. Here we’ll board a scenic river cruise, where a local guide will share stories of Winnipeg’s history and point out key landmarks along the way. Highlights include the Manitoba Legislative Building, the Canadian Museum for Human Rights, a glimpse of the St. Boniface Cathedral, and several of the city’s unique bridges and architectural treasures. Afterwards, time is given to explore The Forks at your own pace. This historic meeting place has welcomed people for over 6,000 years – from Indigenous trading gatherings and fur traders to European settlers and new immigrants. Today, it offers riverfront walking paths, open-air spaces, boutique shops, and plenty of food stalls and cafés. Relax by the river, stroll the marketplace, or treat yourself to a local snack before returning to our hotel. This evening we’ll enjoy another exciting night at Folklorama, featuring two additional cultural pavilions. At the first pavilion, savor a full cultural dinner, followed by lively entertainment. At the second, we’ll be treated to a cultural dessert along with another vibrant performance. (The specific pavilions will be announced closer to the tour.)

Included Meals: Lunch, Dinner, Dessert

Day 4 – Winnipeg

Today will be a tour highlight as we’re special guests at a Hutterite Colony for a home-cooked lunch and tour. We will tour their school, church, farm site, and family home. If we are lucky, we will be serenaded by their pre-school students who are just learning English and the young ladies during our shared lunch with the residents of the colony. This will be a memory you will long remember as this personal visit reflects their ways, beliefs, and progressive farming techniques. Tonight, we attend a live musical production at the Rainbow Stage Theater.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
