Mackinac Island Lilacs

2. Escanaba to Mackinac Island
Travel the north side of Lake Michigan to St. Ignace, a beautiful drive.  Cross the famous Mackinac Bridge to Mackinaw City, where we ferry across Lake Huron to Mackinac Island.  Once we arrive, our transportation is limited to horse, carriage, bike, or foot!  A horse and buggy will be waiting to take us to the downtown for some free time to eat and do some shopping.  This afternoon we will tour the sights of the island by horse drawn carriage.   Lunch is served at the spectacular Grand Hotel featuring it’s Grand Luncheon Buffet.  Later check into the the beautiful Lilac Inn on Mackinac Island.  Enjoy this charming hotel that is perfectly located amidst the main street shops and cafes.  Later enjoy the 57th Grand Lilac Parade right outside your hotel.  This parade is special because it is the only parade in North America that is totally horse drawn!  Late afternoon and evening is free to enjoy some the other Lilac festivities on this quaint and lovely island.

3. Mackinac to Ludington
Enjoy breakfast this morning at the hotel.  Motor along the beautiful shores of the west coast of Michigan, and on through the resort communities of Charlevoix, Petoskey.  Arrive in Traverse City the cherry capital of the world.  Visit Cherry Republic before we continue on to Ludington a charming port town and check into your hotel.  This evening you are special guests at a delightful waterfront restaurant.
