Day 1 – Home to Washington DC
Our adventure begins with a flight to the nation’s capital, Washington, D.C. Upon arrival, we’ll make our way to charming Old Town Alexandria and check into the Hampton Inn & Suites, perfectly located for our stay. After settling in, we’ll gather for a special welcome dinner and enjoy getting to know one another.

Day 2 – Washington D.C.
Today is our Smithsonian Day! We’re taking a full day to explore the National Mall and all of the amazing Smithsonian Institutions surrounding that area. Be sure to have your walking shoes on as there is so much to see and learn!

Day 3 – Washington D.C.
Today, we’ll immerse ourselves in the history and heritage of our nation, with our expert local guide leading the way. We’ll likely visit the Vietnam, Korean, and World War II Memorials, along with the inspiring tributes to Washington, Jefferson, and Lincoln. We’ll admire the grandeur of the U.S. Capitol during a guided tour. As we dine together this evening, we’ll reflect upon this impactful day!

Day 4 – Virginia area
After breakfast, we’ll head to nearby Virginia for a full day of discovery. We’ll pay our respects at Arlington National Cemetery and witness the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. We’ll head back to explore the charm of Old Town Alexandria and enjoy lunch on our own. Next, we’ll experience the legacy of George Washington at his beautiful plantation, Mount Vernon. Spend time exploring the grounds including historic buildings, gardens, tombs, and the farm. Returning to Washington D.C, another wonderful dinner awaits. These past two days have provided a moving and unforgettable journey through America’s past and present!

Day 5 – Washington D.C. to New York City
This morning we’ll board Amtrak and enjoy a relaxing train ride as we make our way to the vibrant city of New York. Upon arrival, we’ll check into the Sheraton New York at Times Square, perfectly located in the heart of the city, making it the ideal home base for our upcoming adventures. As evening falls, we’ll dive right into the energy of the Big Apple with a classic New York experience: a delicious dinner of pizza. It’s the perfect start to our time in NYC!

Days 6 & 7 – New York City
These two delightful days will be filled with great sights & experiences as we explore NYC. Our local expert guide will lead us on a journey we’ll long remember, including ferrying out to the Statue of Liberty, symbolizing American freedom to all. Visit Ellis Island and discover, through exhibits, the 12 million people who came here looking for a better life. Depending on traffic, our guide will possibly drive by or take us to Wall Street, World Trade Site, Chinatown, the Garment District, Empire State Building, Lincoln Building, Brooklyn Bridge, Greenwich Village, St. John the Divine Cathedral, a walk through Central Park, a visit to Harlem, spectacular 5th Avenue, Grand Central Station, 9/11 Memorial, Rockefeller Center, and much more! And to top it all off, one of the nights we’ll attend a Broadway Play! “Dolly: A True Original Musical” is the story only Dolly Parton could tell, in her own words and through the songs that shaped her life. From the top of the Smoky Mountains to the top of the world, Dolly captures how she dreamed, dared, stumbled, and soared.

Day 8 – New York City to Home
After breakfast at the hotel, we’ll catch our flight for home, remembering the adventure shared and history learned by us all!
