Day 1 – Home to Medora, ND
Calling all honorary cowboys & cowgirls for A Cowboy Christmas! Our destination is Medora, located in the rugged and beautiful North Dakota Badlands! After comfort stops along the way, we’ll arrive in Medora, a sweet, small town all decked out in its Christmas finery, and settle in for 3 nights at the the Rough Riders Hotel. Perfectly located in the heart of historic Medora, the Rough Riders provides luxury accommodations with the feel of the old west! We’ll get to know one another during dinner at the hotel tonight.

Day 2 – Medora
Breakfast prepares us for a full day of exploring the brand-new Theordore Roosevelt Presidential Library, where interactive exhibits bring to life TR’s life, legacy, and enduring relevance! Learn about our 26th President’s Pillar Principles of citizenship, leadership, and conservation and his values to “Dare Greatly, Think Boldly, Live Passionately, and Care Deeply.” A delicious buffet lunch will be enjoyed at the Library. This afternoon continue to enjoy this remarkable Library – there’s so much to learn and appreciate! After an included dinner, the evening is at your leisure. We’d recommend experiencing the Remembrance Light Stroll, showcasing the lights of Christmas displayed outside the Medora Community Center.

Day 3 – Medora
Today after breakfast, we’ll partake in Medora’s 31st annual Old- Fashioned Cowboy Christmas Festival! Slip on your winter boots, coat, hat, and mittens for walking around and taking in the various festivities at your leisure. In the 1883 Chateau de Mores home, you’ll have the chance to vote on your favorite gingerbread house as well as join in on historic crafts and games. Hop on a horse drawn wagon ride for a spin through Medora. You can choose to paint a Christmas masterpiece on canvas, at your own expense, at the Medora Community Center. Enjoy the Camp Christmas Choir and hymn sing, cheer on the Outhouse Races, and honor veterans during the Laying of Veteran Wreaths. We’ll gather together for the short drive to the Life Skills Center for both a wonderful lunch and dinner. Then bundle back up to celebrate the season with fireworks! Tonight we’re guests at the cozy and beautiful Old Town Hall Theater, built in the spot where the Medora Town Hall was located when Theodore Roosevelt himself visited in 1902. In “A Very Merry Badlands Christmas,” we’ll celebrate Christmas with the stars from the Medora Musical who will bring us the season’s very best holiday favorites and classic Christmas carols! We’ll listen to heartwarming stories and experience a magical grand finale!

Day 4 – Medora to Home
Enjoy one last Medora breakfast this morning. Then we’ll depart for home with a little more “cowboy” in us as we fondly remember A Cowboy Christmas in legendary Medora!
