You’re Invited This Christmas
The original inspiration for this tour came from a widow that had no one left to spend Christmas with. She said, “Ralph, I wish you would do a trip over Christmas for others like myself.” For the next three Christmases, Ralph & Jan led this special tour and were joined by many travelers who desired to be with the “R&J Family” over Christmas. Fast forward to 2025, when Tour Director Beth heard about Ralph & Jan’s special Christmas tour at an R&J Legacy Sharing meeting, the concept tugged on her heart strings and she knew she wanted to bring the tour back! So, no matter what your circumstances are, Beth invites any singles, couples, girlfriends, multigenerational family members that find themselves without plans over December 22-26 to join her! Sharing sweet fellowship and creating new Christmas memories, while fondly recalling old memories – together we’ll be home for Christmas!
Day 1 – Home to Delavan, WI
Welcome aboard our Christmas sleigh (aka festive motorcoach) – we are so glad you accepted our Christmas invitation! With Christmas music filling the air and our hearts, we’ll stop for lunch on our own in quaint LaCrosse, located on the Mississippi River. Then we’ll travel through the rolling hills of Wisconsin to Delavan. We’ll first check into the charming Lake Lawn Resort. Situated along two miles of Delavan Lake’s shoreline, Lake Lawn Resort has welcomed guests for over 140 years! Tonight, we’ll be guests for a delightful dinner at Rosewood. Our hearts will easily be reignited with the spirit of the season as we’re surrounded with beautifully decorated trees and festive seasonal décor. A special Rosewood concert is next: “Christmas Remembered” carries on a cherished Wisconsin Tradition, celebrating well-loved hymns, carols, and holiday songs. Each musical arrangement is performed with professional sound, colorful theatrical lighting and imaginative video – White Christmas, Chestnuts Roasting, O Holy Night, Jingle Bell Rock, Little Drummer Boy, Sleigh Ride and more. We’ll be encouraged to lift our voices and join in the joy of Christmas by singing along throughout the show! Returning to our resort, will anyone be dreaming of a white Christmas tonight?!

Day 2 – Delavan to Elkhart Lake, WI
After breakfast at our wonderful resort, we’ll travel to the lovely and historic town of Cedarburg, all in festive Christmas array. A local guide will step on our coach to welcome us and give us an overview of their special town. Then we’re on our own to explore – be sure to stop in the Cedarburg History Museum! Along Cedarburg’s quaint Washington Ave, you’ll find many speciality stores like “Downtown Dough” which carries cookie cutters for every hobby, sport, & celebration! Cedar Creek Settlement, located in a restored 1860s woolen mill, is filled with many wonderful treasures to make Christmas shopping easy. Enjoy lunch on your own, perhaps at one of the restaurants located along Cedar Creek or maybe you’re just in the mood for a big, sweet, and juicy caramel apple from Amy’s Candy Kitchen! After lunch, we’ll depart for The Wreath Factory in Plymouth to decorate our own evergreen wreaths with a variety of festive adornments. They’ll look perfect on our front doors! We’ll also step into the magic of the season as their store is transformed into a festive wonderland where beautifully decorated trees each tell their own story, from timeless traditions to whimsical surprises! Next we travel to Elkhart Lake where we will find the grand Osthoff Resort, our home for the next three nights! We’ll enjoy a Welcome Reception and then settle into our rooms. A delightful dinner is served at the Osthoff this evening.

Day 3 – Elkhart Lake
Waking up at the beautiful Osthoff on Christmas Eve morning is special! We have a wonderful day in store! After a wonderful breakfast, we may feel nostalgic as we participate in a culinary class in which we’ll bake and decorate Christmas goodies! And yes, we get to take our tasty baked goods with us – yum! Lunch and the afternoon are free to explore the resort, or perhaps you wish to get together for fellowship with the new traveling friends you’re making. Late this afternoon we’ll enjoy a horse-drawn wagon ride through the picturesque resort property to feast our eyes on the decorations and Christmas lights. Afterwards we gather in our own space, complete with a Christmas tree, fireplace, and wreaths on the windows that overlook the lake. Here we’re treated to a delightful Christmas Eve dinner, followed by a special “family” time around the tree as we share about our Christmases past.

Day 4 – Elkhart Lake – MERRY CHRISTMAS!
Merry Christmas Travelers! Enjoy another Osthoff breakfast. This morning you have the choice to enjoy leisure time at our elegant resort or there will be options to attend Christmas Day church services. Then we’ll all come together to feast on a scrumptious Grand Christmas Brunch Buffet! After some free time at the resort this afternoon, we’ll board our coach and head to Sheboygan where we’ll oohhh and aahhh as we drive through their “Making Spirits Bright” Christmas light display. Returning to the Osthoff, we’ll enjoy an “R&J Christmas Family Fun Night,” complete with games and “Grandma’s Counter.” Picture going to Grandma’s house when you were little and her counter was full of tupperware and dishes full of all sorts of snacks and treats! What a wonderful way to spend our last evening together in this cozy, quaint atmosphere as we play games and snack until our hearts (and stomachs!) are content!

Day 5 – Elkhart Lake to Home
Savor one last breakfast at the Osthoff. As we start to make our way back home, we’re happy to know our special tour isn’t over quite yet! Stopping at the Cranberry Lodge in Tomah, we’ll be treated to a hearty lunch and our own private show! Trekking the last few miles to home, with Christmas music still filling the air, we’ll savor the wonderful moments we’ve shared together. What a joy it’s been to spend An Old-Fashioned Christmas with one another!
