Surrounded by Amish farms, AmishView Inn provides the intimate atmosphere of a bed & breakfast with the amenities of an upscale hotel. Each morning enjoy an incredible hot country breakfast. The AmishView Inn also features an indoor heated pool, whirlpool, and fitness center. Each room boasts a kitchenette. Plus cozy and inviting décor greet us at every turn!
Day 1 – Home to Philadelphia, PA
Today we fly into Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love” and home of the first and second Continental Congresses as well as the first Capitol of the U.S. After checking into our hotel, it’s fitting that dinner is planned at a restaurant with Philly cheesesteaks on the menu! We’ll enjoy getting to know one another as we dine.

Day 2 – Philadelphia to Bird-in-Hand, PA
After breakfast at the hotel, local step-on guides will join us as we explore the rich history of Philadelphia. During our informative tour, we will see Independence Hall, the site of the signing of the Declaration of Independence, and view the Liberty Bell. We’ll drive by the Betsy Ross House and visit the historic Christ Church. Other notable stops may include Congress Hall, Carpenter’s Hall, The First Bank of the United States, and the burial ground of Benjamin Franklin. Then we will visit The National Constitution Center to experience the Constitution through rare artifacts, historic documents, interactive galleries, and live programming. Lunch is included at the National Constitution Center. Afterwards, we’ll make a quick photo stop at the Philadelphia Museum of Art to capture the famous Rocky steps. Departing Philadelphia, we’ll take in the passing scenery as we drive to quaint Bird-in-Hand, located in Lancaster County’s beautiful Pennsylvania Dutch area. We’ll check in for three nights at the relaxing and charming AmishView Inn & Suites. A family-style dinner of Amish PA Dutch favorites will be thoroughly enjoyed tonight at Plain & Fancy Restaurant, located next to our hotel.

Day 3 – Hershey, PA
Relish a hot, country buffet breakfast this morning in the lovely dining room at Amishview Inn, which overlooks the peaceful Amish farmland. Then we head to Hershey for a sweet day! We’ll start at The Hershey Story Museum to experience the Chocolate Lab, an educational class inspired by Milton Hershey’s own candy-making apprenticeship. We’ll try our hand at chocolate pouring, decorating, and of course, tasting as we create a delicious take-home chocolate masterpiece! Plus, we’ll learn about the origins of chocolate, how chocolate is grown, and the refinement process. Afterwards, we head to Hershey’s Chocolate World for a historic Trolley Tour. We’ll explore Hershey’s history and enjoy chocolate tastings on this in-depth sightseeing experience, visiting Milton Hershey’s birthplace, the original factory, iconic streetlights, and Highpoint Mansion. While at Hershey Chocolate World, have lunch on our own as well as climb aboard the indoor Tour Ride as your transported from tropical cocoa bean to wrapped candy bar. Afterwards, we’ll tour through downtown Hershey and Hershey Fresh Market aboard another historic trolley. Our trolley takes us to dinner at a wonderful local restaurant followed by an ice cream treat at an old-fashioned parlor – it truly has been a sweet day! Savor the comforts of the AmishView Inn this evening.

Day 4 – Bird-in-Hand
Rise and shine to another grand AmishView Inn breakfast. Today is all about experiencing the Amish people and their unique lifestyle. First, at the Amish Experience Theater, the dramatic tale of “Jacob’s Choice,” an Amish family’s effort to preserve a lifestyle and a culture, is unforgettably told through a high-tech, multi-media production with visual effects, sound design, and mechanical effects. This compelling tale is a great introduction to and overview of an Amish family and the remarkable resilience of Amish culture through the ages. Our Amish Experience Tour continues at the Amish Country Homestead, home to the Fisher Family Homestead & One-Room Schoolhouse. Portraying the Old Order Amish as they live and work in today’s world, we’ll learn about their traditions, clothing, schooling, life without electricity from the grid, and more. Next, a step-on guide joins us for an Amish Farmland tour. Taking us deep into the heart of the oldest Amish community’s farmland, we’ll marvel at the same fertile fields that attracted and have kept the Amish here for over 280 years. Our informative guide will cover many interesting topics concerning the Amish way of life as we roll along. We’ll also make stops in the Amish farmland to see the crafts, quilts, and more – providing the perfect shopping opportunities! A special lunch is planned right in an Amish home, complete with all the traditional Amish family-style fixings! Our Farmland Tour continues after lunch as we witness spectacular panoramas of patchwork farms unparalleled in their intrinsic beauty, still being farmed with horses and mules. Dinner is on our own before an incredible evening awaits at the Sight & Sound Theater for their state-of-the-art, whale of a tale production of “Jonah.” Jonah is a prophet and a man desperately trying to outrun his calling from God – a calling that leads straight to his enemy, Nineveh. After uncharted adventures lead him off a storm-tossed ship and into the belly of a giant fish, Jonah believes all hope is lost. But in the depths, will he learn how to receive grace and extend mercy, even toward those he opposed the most?

Day 5 – Bird-in-Hand to Home
Savor one last incredible AmishView Inn breakfast before we depart for the airport and our flight home. Pennsylvania’s Past & Present has truly to come life for us these last few days as we’ve experienced Philadelphia, Hershey, and Amish country. We return home with wonderful memories and new friendships!
