Day 2 – Mobile

We’ll start off with breakfast at the hotel before we enjoy a morning city tour of Mobile with the help of our local, step-on guide. Ready for a delicious adventure? A leisurely, guided food walking tour is our ticket to tasting the Gulf Coast’s most iconic dishes while exploring Alabama’s oldest city! Next, at the shores of beautiful Mobile Bay the USS Alabama Battleship Park awaits. Here we’ll step aboard this iconic piece of WWII history, nicknamed the “Mighty A.” Our Navy League guide will share stories, history, and personal insights from the ship’s service as we explore from the deck to the inner workings of the ship. Did you know the USS Alabama earned 9 Battlestars?! Afterwards, time will be given to refresh back at the hotel before a special evening ahead. Tonight we’re guests for an unforgettable chef-led dining experience featuring Panini Pete, one of the Gulf Coast’s most beloved culinary personalities. Chef Pete will guide us through a thoughtfully curated meal inspired by the Deep South, sharing stories from his culinary journey and the inspiration behind each dish with us. This dinner will be incredible!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner

Day 3 – Mobile to Biloxi, MS

After breakfast at the hotel, we depart for Biloxi today. First up is a 70-minute living marine adventure cruise as we experience a shrimping trip into the Gulf. We will cruise along the scenic coastline and learn first hand the art of shrimping. Then lunch is served at legendary Mary Mahoney’s Old French House. Next, we’ll take a tour of the Maritime and Seafood Industry Museum. We’ll experience an array of exhibits on shrimping, oystering, recreational fishing, wetlands, managing marine resources, charter boats, marine blacksmithing, wooden boat building, net making, Catboats/Biloxi skiff, shrimp peeling machine, and more. Mid-afternoon a step-on guide will join us for an interesting city tour of Biloxi. This will include the 1848 Biloxi Lighthouse and the Visitor Center Museum. Interesting facts: the Biloxi Lighthouse was one of the first cast-iron lighthouses in the South and has also been maintained by female keepers for more years than any other lighthouse in the United States! Then we’ll check into the Hilton Garden Inn for a two-night stay. Tonight is a free evening and dinner on own to enjoy your southern surroundings. Right by our hotel is the Biloxi Crosswalk (bridge) that you can cross to access the boardwalk along Biloxi Port Beach – perfect for an evening stroll!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch

Hotel: Hilton Garden Inn (2 Nights)

Day 4 – Biloxi

Breakfast is included at the hotel before we visit the Jefferson Davis Presidential Library & Museum. Davis was the President of the Confederate States of America from 1861 to 1865. His library is located within the Beauvoir historical site, Davis’ post-war home from 1876–1889. A beautiful location set right on the Gulf’s coast! Lunch will be on your own followed by a fun visit to the Gulf Coast Gator Ranch. Returning to the hotel, we’ll have a chance to refresh. Dinner is included at the hotel this evening.

Included Meals: Breakfast, Dinner

Day 5 – Biloxi to New Orleans, LA

Today after breakfast we continue along to another glory on the Gulf Coast: New Orleans! First we’ll experience the past like never before at the grand Destrehan Plantation, where costumed interpreters bring history to life. As we’re guided through the French Colonial-style home, encircled by a 12-foot balustrade gallery, we’ll hear stories of the people who lived and worked here from the plantation’s beginnings in 1787 until its sale in 1910. Time will be given to explore the plantation grounds and outbuildings. We’ll also enjoy a boxed lunch in the lovely setting. Next up is the afternoon spent at the remarkable National WWII Museum. A self-guided tour allows you to experience at your pace “the war that changed the world” – why it was fought, how it was won, and what it means today so that all generations can understand the price of freedom. Afterwards, we’ll check in for two nights at the Drury Plaza Hotel, a historic renovation of the Cumberland Phone Building. Partake in the Drury’s Kickback Reception, which is a complete light meal. The Drury Plaza Hotel is located in the heart of the Big Easy, just steps from the French Quarter, Bourbon Street, Canal Street, the Riverwalk, and more. With the St. Charles streetcar perfectly located on our hotel’s corner, perhaps this evening you’ll choose to climb aboard to explore the charming Garden District. Did you know that this historic streetcar line has been running since 1835, making it the oldest continuously operating streetcar line in the world?!

Included Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Drury Kickback

Hotel: Drury Plaza Hotel (2 Nights)

Day 6 – New Orleans

We’ll start our day by touring the eclectic Mardi Gras World, making our very own masks, and enjoying a great lunch here as well. This afternoon a step-on guide will join us, providing great history and insight for our city tour of New Orleans. Next, we’ll explore the iconic and romantic French Quarter by a narrated carriage ride! Wait – before the carriage wheels start rolling, let’s head to the barn to meet our engines – donkeys! We will then return to the hotel to refresh before we make our way to a special, private dining experience at The Court of Two Sisters. It’s more than a restaurant – it’s a legend with rich history! With luscious Creole and Cajun cuisine on the menu, it’s the perfect, charming place for our farewell dinner!
